Even having one child seems like a lot of work.

So imagine having 11 kids, all currently under the age of 15.

That’s the reality for Britni Church, 31, who has spent almost a decade of her life being pregnant.

And the mum-of-11 isn’t done yet, wanting a brood of 15.

Britni never imagined having such a large family, but once she started welcoming children she loved the constant company that having a big family provided.

The mum from Arkansas City, Kansas, had her first child, Crizman, 15, six days after her sixteenth birthday with her ex-husband back in 2004.

The pair had married five days before, and went on to have another four children together: Jordan, 14, Caleb, 13, Jace, 12 and Cadence, ten.

When the couple broke up in 2010, Britni enjoyed being single and spent her weekends partying, unexpectedly falling pregnant with her sixth child, Jesalyn, now eight, in 2012.

She spent three years raising her children alone as a single parent before meeting husband, Chris, a sub-contractor, at work in 2014.

The couple had their first son together, Silas, five, in summer 2015, a year after meeting, before Britni gave birth to son Christopher, three, in 2016 and surprise triplets Oliver, Asher and Abel, one, in June of last year.

Caring for a family of 11 children is expensive, and Britni and Chris, 28, spend $300 a week on groceries, including five boxes of cereal, 66 cartons of milk, and 600 nappies.

Britni said: ‘I hope we’ll try to have another girl still.

‘I don’t think I would ever have more than 15 kids but the again I never thought I’d have 11 kids.

‘I thought I would have maybe four kids maximum.

‘It does not feel like I have lots of kids – it feels normal.’

While Britni would like 15 children, she says she would stop if any of her kids said their family was too big.

She has faced judgement for having so many children, but has stopped caring what other people think.

‘I felt lots of shame about getting pregnant the sixth time because I always wanted my children to have the same dad.

‘But when Jesalyn was born she was so innocent, precious and beautiful. All of the shame went away immediately.

‘She was perfect. I stopped caring what people thought.

‘I love having a big family – there’s always someone to talk to.’

A day with a gang of 11 children is pretty hectic.

Britni gets up at 7am and checks on the baby triplets before preparing breakfast for the family and checking her emails over a quick coffee.

She then makes a start on the 12 loads of washing she has to do per week while Chris gets the first of two school runs going to get all the kids to school.

That school run happens in a fifteen-seater Ford Transit that the family bought last year following the birth of the triplets, having outgrown their old twelve-seater car.

After lunch, with the older children at school, Britni reads books to the triplets before their snoozing time and catches up on some of her hobbies, like crocheting, as they sleep.

Soon after it’s time to prepare dinner and clean up the house – with the help of Chris.

The family eats dinner together at a custom-made twelve-seater table that Chris had to build just for them, then once the younger kids are in bed at 9pm Britni is able to sneak in an hour to watch TV.

Each child shares a bedroom in the couple’s five-bedroom house and Britni and Chris intend to convert the attic and basement into extra bedrooms once the triplets, who currently sleep in their parent’s bedroom, get older.

Britni shares snapshots of life with her entourage of 11 on her Instagram page @our_large_family_life where she has gained more than 8,000 followers.

She said: ‘We get lots of stares when we go out as a family.

‘We’ve had people buy the whole family dinner on multiple occasions because they’re so impressed how well behaved the kids are…

‘If things go well, we hope to build a house in the country by a large pond as Chris loves fishing.

‘We’d love to get some animals too.

‘Maybe two dogs and a cat would be a good start.’
